Canopy by Hilton

Situated on Gallery Row in one of Portland’s most popular neighborhoods, the new Canopy by Hilton Pearl District will be opening this spring. It is through the efforts of Canopy and The Buccini/ Pollin Group that this becomes the first hotel in Oregon under the Canopy by Hilton brand.

Gary Steffen, global head of Canopy by Hilton, says, “We look forward to offering our guests a truly positive stay. Introducing our guests to this exciting neighborhood via experiences such as visiting the world’s largest bookstore, Powell’s City of Books, the nearby Gerding Theater or enjoying one of several renowned art galleries.”

With the growth of the neighborhood and nearby galleries and other attractions, many young professionals and businesses now call the Pearl District home. Canopy by Hilton, on the corner of 9th Avenue and NW Glisan, adds 153 guest rooms to the vibrant, artistic central Portland district. Guests will have 2,807 total square feet of meeting spaces to choose from for important meetings, team building exercises or even a game of ping pong. Small events can also be held in the hotel’s winter garden.

No two Canopy hotels are the same. From the design and interior to the menu, their hotels reflect the neighborhood in which they reside. In the Pearl District Hotel, the Canopy Central Café features locally grown ingredients such as salmon, razor clams, hazelnuts and blueberries. As Portland is home to a variety of craft brews, wine and cocktails, the beverage menu is full of the regional favorites.

Other amenities include a Transfer Lounge, allowing guests to relax, change clothes and store luggage before they leave in lieu of an extended checkout. In the evenings, guests can meet in the bar for complementary tastings of beer and wine. A 24-hour fitness center looks out over the Pearl District from the rooftop, and guests can use the complementary bikes to explore the city. The hotel is located near Portland Streetcar and MAX light rail stops.

“We’ve become close working partners with Hilton over the past decade, as has EB5 Capital, and the shared experience among all three companies lends even greater confidence to the success of the project,” says Dave Pollin, co-founder and president of The Buccini/Pollin Group. “The Pearl District’s exciting array of restaurants, stylish shops, and art galleries complimented by Hilton’s excellence in hospitality, will enable guests to enjoy many memorable experiences.”
