Wine and (so much!) more in Walla Walla
With more than 3,000 acres of vineyards and more than 130 wineries, it’s no wonder that Walla Walla has grown to be considered the capital of Washington Wine Country. But Walla Walla’s reputation for excellence beyond wine is growing—making it an ideal spot for a meeting or conference. Here is a list of the Top Five things to do in Walla Walla:
1. Special events
From Restaurant Month and BrewFest in February to the Balloon Stampede in May, the Guitar Festival in March or Wheelin’ Walla Walla weekend in September—and wine events in every season—there is something for everyone throughout the year.
2. Eat Well
With fine dining from James Beard nominated chefs to farm-to-table casual fare, Walla Walla has plenty to satisfy any appetite.
3. Fore!
The Walla Walla Valley is home to some of Washington’s very best golf, with six area courses including Wine Valley Golf Club which has been named the #3 public course in Washington (and #34 public course in the U.S.).
4. Let us entertain you
With a symphony, a short-film festival, musicals, plays, and an abundance of musicians performing at tasting rooms and vineyards throughout the year, live music, theater and film are never far away.
5. Great scenery
Considered one of America’s Most Beautiful Main Streets, Downtown Main Street is filled with historic buildings and is a vibrant and walkable destination for shopping and dining. Downtown is only 15 minutes away from Bennington Lake—a hub for hiking, biking, horseback riding, bird watching, paddleboarding and scenic views of the Blue Mountains and the greater Walla Walla Valley.
