Take it to Tacoma

Picture this: You and your attendees will leave your upscale hotel and get to the event in a two-minute walk. You’ll attend meetings, have a cocktail party surrounded by priceless works of art, and sample caught-that-day seafood in an acclaimed waterfront restaurant, without ever having to jump in a car. You’ll stroll among cheetahs, snowshoe in the mountains, or cruise among orcas – and still make tomorrow’s sit-down.

You don’t have to just picture it… you can experience it in Tacoma, Washington.

Every expectation you have for your convention, conference, meeting and mingling will be exceeded in Tacoma. It begins and ends with unparalleled convenience in one of America’s most walkable major metropolitan cities, only 18 miles from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

No matter the size of your event, you’ll find an incredible array of venues and spectacular hotels. At the Greater Tacoma Convention Center (GTCC), state-of-the-art technology meshes with inspired art and breathtaking views to form one of the nation’s top facilities of its kind. Located in the heart of Tacoma’s Museum District, the GTCC offers theater, classroom, banquet, and ballroom spaces that accommodates 10 to 2,500 attendees, plus a professional planning staff to assist with every detail.

And of course, there’s the extracurricular. Art and culture abound in Tacoma, with five major museums—all with unique event spaces in the downtown area. Literally across the street is the Tacoma Art Museum where works of Renoir, Pissarro and Degas reside. A few steps farther is the Museum of Glass, with its works by the renowned Tacoma native Dale Chihuly and other international glass superstars. Foss Waterway Seaport, a century-old stop for steamers and sailing ships and now a dramatic event space. If you prefer Aston Martins over art, LeMay – America’s Car Museum is a 10-minute ride on the free downtown light rail.

If you want to venture out of the downtown core (not that you’d need to), treat your attendees to the shores of Commencement Bay, where boating, kayaking and paddle-boarding are the order of the day. Play a round at Chambers Bay, the home of the 2015 U.S. Open. Or head out to spectacular Mt. Rainier, where you’ll hike among wildflowers in the spring and play in the snow during winter.

Tacoma, Washington is everything you need to make your event a success and everything you want to make it memorable.
